All That Laundry!!!!

Rule #1
So, how do you deal with the endless pile of laundry that accumulates everyday in your busy home?
Well, your first step and you may not want to hear it, is to have less clothes.Toss or give away anything that no longer fits you or your children. How many shirts do you need to have? Have you worn it in 6 months? If not give it away or bring to a consignment shop.
Rule #2
Just because you or your children wore it once does not mean it is dirty, unless of course it is dirty. If it is not then put it back in the proper drawer.
Rule #3
A laundry basket marked with your child's name placed in child's or grown-up room. Hide in closet if you don't like the look of it.For example: say you are going to do two loads of laundry; one dark, one white. You have two baskets with child's names, wash the laundry, dry it and then fold and put back in the "named" laundry basket to be put away.
Rule #4
Do not wait to do laundry all at once.It is  overwhelming and time consuming.Every morning, while kids are busy with breakfast, wash one load.It was my rountine to do two loads of laundry in the morning when my children were very small. I would wash it, fold it and then when I was putting them to bed put it away. Easy if you have a "named " basket for each child.
Rule #5
Teach children to put laundry away if they are able.
Rule#6
If you have housecleaning ask your cleaning gals to help fold or put away or wash your linens. We often strip beds, wash the linens and then put back on bed before we leave. We also will fold laundry if we see a clean basket of clothes. This is somewhat new to us these days since we often clean for busy moms with little children. It's fast when you have four hands folding two or three baskets and we do not charge extra for doing this.
Rule #6
Hire a cleaning company to do chores you don't want to do, for example just have someone come in and wash your floors. It's less money and makes your life easier.
Often people state that they do not have cleaning because of the cost.So what do you spend your money on that you can delete from your budget to allow for cleaning? Most of our smaller homes range in the 75.00 range with cleaning twice a month. 150.00 for piece of mind divivded by four weeks equals 37.00 a week. Can you deduct 37.00 from another expense to have cleaning?

Keeping your house clean is a full-time job.Think of it in those terms.Make out lists and follow this blog for homekeeping solutions.
