How to Choose A Cleaning Company

Years ago, choosing a cleaning company was easy, you just found a friend that had a nice lady who cleaned in your neighborhood and you hired her.
Now, the cleaning world is quite different and choosing a cleaning company or cleaning gal is not so easy. There are countless cleaning companies and independent cleaners out there to chose from but how do you chose and where do you start?
Here are some helpful hints to follow:
Consult a friend who can refer you to her cleaning company or individual.
Interview a small locally owned business in the town where you live that can provide references, useful information about cleaning products and an overall knowledge about the art of cleaning. A business certificate from the town is also useful.
Remember, just because someone says they can clean does not mean they are a professional cleaner.
Ask questions: what kind of products do they use? or are you going to supply the products? are they green? What kind of vacuum? Is it a hepa-filter? Do they do linens? Empty the dishwasher? Organize items that need attention.Fold laundry?
Trust is the biggest concern for most homeowners. Can your cleaning team or person be reached without a problem? Are they listed in the phone book? Can you email them with a concern or a compliment?
Cleaning companies come and go but a good cleaning company will have a solid work history, look professional, and can provide tips and solutions to cleaning your house. For example,in some homes we clean there is often small items of silver that need polishing, we do that, its part of our job to make everything sparkle and shine.
Is it a good fit?
Just because you hire someone to clean your home doesn't necessarily mean it is a good fit. We are fortunate that we have so many clients we want to please but sometimes pleasing those we work for just doesn't work out, and that is okay.If we encounter a homeowner that complains frequently, we as a team decide whether or not this homeowner would be better off trying someone else.Of course, the complaints have to be unreasonable and we try to work things out but sometimes it's just better for all if we end the cleaning relationship on a good note by referring other local cleaners.
Keys and codes:
Are you comfortable with leaving a key or an alarm code with your cleaning company.Do you trust the company enough to go away and have the house secure when you return?
In my business I am the only one who knows the codes to client's homes and always double check the lock-up system.
A good cleaning company will know the ins and outs of your home, and provide you with a sense of ease when leaving your home to the care of others.
Most important: You should come home to a great smelling, sparkling clean home to enjoy!

Dust Mops: An old fashion solution for a clean house

When I was a child my mother would dust mop the wood floors in our home everyday; a quick solution before dragging out the vacuum. When I began this company many years ago we often used dust mops to aid with the house cleaning. But the swifter came along and the dust mops disappeared. We don't carry dust mops but if I client has one we love to use it, especially under beds. There is nothing like a fluffy dust mop, just shake after using and throw in the washing machine. I am now recommanding to all my clients that they invest in this niffy item for about 20.00.A must if you have cats and dogs.

Home Sweet Home

Recently,my companion and I traveled to New Orleans to visit my daughter, while there my daughter signed us up for a full day at The St. Bernard Project,a non-profit group helping to get folks back in their homes 6 years later after Katrina.Hard to believe isn't it? Well, my skills were not much use when it came to mudding walls so I took it upon myself to ask the leader if I could use my organizational skills to revamp the holding station for all the tools, batteries, screw guns, tape, gloves, masks etc., so that when someone needed something it was right there under it's taped sign. We had a lot of fun doing the project but was bittersweet when we arrived back to our nice hotel with all its luxuries.

Organization Is The Key to Successful Homekeeping

An organized entry is the best way to stay organized, individual lockers with each child's items is great if you have the space to build them into your mudroom or entryway. Baskets with each child's name and photo is another way to lead children to their own little area where boots, shin pads, cleats, hats and gloves and small assorted outwear have a home. Another great wayto organize an entry is to have a burea in the area as well.Again with the name and photo of each child on an individual drawer will help little hands know where to put their things. This is also great for those endless school papers.Have a folder in each drawer so when children return from school they have a place to put school papers. This helps to keep Moms and kids organized and avoids that rushing around in the morning looking for a paper that needs to be signed. In the photo above, this organized  homeowner has individual lockers for each child. The staff at Annie's Cleaning Company also provides personal organization for any room in your home.

Got Mold?

Mold is a major problem in the housecleaning business and for years we have used a bleach product to conquer mold in bathrooms. But being a "greenie" I could no longer allow bleach to be used in my client's homes. So, I began a little investigation along with a trial period to see if my "Annie's All Natural Bath Cleaner" would do the job demanded by moldy bathrooms. (Mold has nothing to do with cleanliness, so don't blame yourself!)
Here are some before and after photos( not in order because this technical stuff amuses me) of a bathroom ceiling that had a mold problem because the bathroom fan was just not working properly.
So I began my magic and as you can see the mold disappeared! One of my staff commented that it was like watching an infomercial.
Join my blog and I will reveal the secret or you can buy this product for 7.00 a bottle.Call 781-740-9898.
